The Dep Ed order shows that Subangdaku Technical Vocational School is now officially recognized as the 208th technical vocation schools in the whole Philippines and makes it the first and only full pledge technical vocational school in Mandaue Division. This development was confirmed by Mrs. Myrna G. Yu during a faculty meeting last August, 2008. Mrs.Yu showed the memo to all teachers and explained to them all the development of the school as far technical vocational is concerned. This announcement answered the many questions aroused by the individual's mind. Mrs. Yu explained the curriculum adopted by the school in implementing the Tech Voc Program. The School offers three technical vocational specializations to the students such as Metal Works, Auto Mechanics and Food Management which will help the student to develop their skills and be ready to find a job after graduation in high school. Another Tech Voc subjects are also added such as Entrepreneurship, P.C. Operation and Technical Drawing. The realization of Subangdaku Technical Vocational School was made possible by Mrs. Myrna G. Yu, the school principal. Mrs. Yu started working in the school's separation from Mandaue City Comprehensive National High School, the mother school. After the submission of all the requirements for the separation from the mother school, she also applied for the conversion of the school from Subangdaku National High School to Subangdaku Technical Vocational School last school year 2006-2007. After making all the follow-ups in the Dep Ed Central office and even the House of Congress, Mrs. Yu's effort was finally granted. On July 3, 2007, Dep Ed Region VII released an endorsement stating approval of the of the separation of Subangdaku National High School from its mother school, Mandaue City Comprehensive National High School. On August 16, 2007, another endorsement was released stating the approval of the request for conversion of Subangdaku National High School to Subangdaku Technical Vocational School. Mrs. Yu is now working for the school GAA. At present, Subangdaku Technical Vocational School has made a lot of changes to realize as technical vocational school. First, the change of the school curriculum. This was implemented last year in the first year level only but this is now implemented from first year to fourth year level. Second, the conversion of three classrooms into shops, thus making the school to adopt two shifts classes for the first year and second year. third , utilizing the ground into gardens. with all the cooperation of the parents, teachers and students, the school garden is now visible. First year and second year students plant camote crops, third year students plant pechay and fourth year students pant peanut. Finally, a rigid training for teachers is done not only to Tech Voc teachers but also teachers who are hangdling English,Science and Math subjects. By: Xayida Mae Dawaton |
